Recognizing that ship operations, by their nature, pose risks to seafarers, third parties and the environment, the Company at all-time endeavors to minimize these risks by: Conducting its affairs such that all decision-making prioritizes the safe operation of the ships under its control.
Ensuring that the ships under its management fully comply with flag state and international maritime legislation regarding safety and environmental protection measures; Employing competent and suitably qualified personnel, who are able to supervise and carry out operations in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly manner; Providing suitable personnel training to ensure operating procedures (inclusive of on board SMS Training, drills, self-assessment, and CB training) are under stood and complied with Monitoring the effectiveness of ship board safety and environmental performance (safety meetings, ship board management meetings, internal/external audits & third party inspections) and all related procedures; Utilizing accident and pollution prevention measures, by carrying out accident/incident & near-miss investigations and refining procedures where appropriate to mitigate risk; and, Maintaining, and periodically reviewing, contingency plans to be used in the event of emergencies. The Company ensures that it maintains compliance with prevailing safety and environmental standards through regular review and, where appropriate, update of internal systems and procedures.
